Hi, I'm Michelle

Being invited into your story is a true gift but to photograph it is a different level of honour.

There is nothing as special as wedding days. You get to plan your dream wedding but you will never get to rehearse how you should feel. And this is what I’m here for. I capture every moment at its purest, in all possible forms — laughter, tears, dances and stolen kisses. This is the work I have been known for, the combination of capturing candid moments and professional portraits , stories uniquely and elegantly told.

For over a decade of being a photographer, I’ve learned that a great camera won’t capture the magic alone.

It is the ability to empathise with emotion, texture and light that gathers the years of expertise, high-end camera, uncontainable joy and truly a once-in-a-lifetime vulnerable moment into timeless photographs.

Congratulations on getting married!

Finally our worlds met!

Out of a hundred images and photographers you’ve seen, you landed here and that meant something!

We both gravitated to the same vibe that evokes story, connection and light.

My name is Michelle. An Adelaide-based wedding photographer , born and raised in the Philippines. I approach things with the calmness of tropical sunset- chilled, soulful, memorable.

I grew up taking photos with my 90s Kodak film. Seeing beauty in the most mundane became my second nature.

My passion for human connection led my journey to wedding photography. I have discovered the power of empathy to immerse into one life and feel the moments from which one sees it. This made me devote myself to capturing candid moments in artful, soulful and timeless photographs.

“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”

― Ansel Adams

My love for photography was born in my mama’s garden. Enticed by the beautiful textures and colours of bougainvilleas, I was desperate to capture what my 10-year-old eyes saw. From then on seeing beauty in the most mundane became second nature.

A vintage Kodak camera was my first best friend. It was during the fun 90s when I can't wait to develop a 36 film shot, treasure and make scrapbooks of successful photographs, get heartbroken of over-exposed shots.

A decade later, the luxury of digital advantage came and I was in the game but my favourites remained- the love for natural and ambient light to tell the candid moments of the day.

My love for telling stories from the most mundane to the most significant moments coupled with the passion for capturing unguarded moments is a gift I want to share with you.

"seeing beauty in the most mundane became MY second nature"

My passion for human connection and illuminating them in photographs led my journey to wedding photography.

I see it as the art of immersing into one's life and capturing from the vantage point of knowing that moments are fleeting and that the loudest of love are sometimes unspoken, the rarest and strongest of them are hiding between the most awkward of moments. It is the art of immersing into one's life and capturing from the vantage point of knowing that moments are fleeting and that the loudest of love are sometimes unspoken, the rarest and strongest of them are hiding in between the most awkward of moments.

“Every wedding, every shoot, I see the world through a whole new lens. Your story will be different from the last, and this ignites my passion all over again.”

My photography approach is a blend of how you wish to document the signature moments of your first new family portraits and how I constantly watch and wait for the natural and candid moments to record the spirit of your special day.

It doesn’t happen impromptu, months and weeks before your occasion I stay in touch through hoops of excitements and questions. Communication allows effective immersion of how this day means to you.

Remember that the perfect day begins with you; your originality, taste, and style inspire everything I do. I will be illustrating your love story, or any special event through my lens, providing you with a collection of images that look and feel as authentic as your love and values.

Rain, hail or shine, I won’t miss a beat

1. I am married to a supportive husband and we are blessed with a cute little toddler who is our greatest inspiration. We also have two cats named Charlie the extrovert and Cookie the introvert.

2. The greatest core value that I bring to my wedding photography is empathy. It is the understanding of the emotions and stories that have culminated on your wedding day.

3. Not only do I empathise with emotion but also with environment. My artistic style is warm but my dedication for storytelling never  neglects to capture the uniqueness of your chosen day, the weather and the season that you chose to tie the knot, whether it's in an overcast winter (which I'm a lover of) or somewhere in the lovely hues of summer.

4. When not photographing weddings, I do jewellery photography  for a high end Adelaide premier jeweller Gerard McCabe.

5. There is a beautiful ancient saying from the Asaro tribe in Papua New Guinea “Knowledge is only rumor until it lives in the bones.” Photography is my ultimate act of integration. It is how I fold my experiences into my being. It is a powerful mechanism that allows life learnings to move from our mind to our heart to our hand.

I love slow mornings and making my own coffee

Your Hopeless Romantic Team, ready to be your third wheel.

"Honestly, Michelle is the dream wedding photographer. She is incredibly talented, so organised and helpful, and her friendly personality make her so lovely to deal with. She really listened to what we wanted and captured every moment of our day so perfectly. When we got our photos back, our family and friends made comments that they were the best wedding photos they had seen. I have and will continue to recommend Michelle to anyone looking for a photographer for their special day. Wedding photos are one of the main things you want to get right, and I’m so happy that we did. Thank you Michelle"
